30-Mile Chase Lands Two Men in Jail – Brainerd Dispatch

LITTLE FALLS – Two men were arrested Tuesday after leading law enforcement in a pursuit that covered a 30-mile stretch of Highway 10 from Royalton to Cushing in Morrison County.

According to a report from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Cloud Police Department was involved in a chase with a white Chrysler Concorde that was on Highway 10 toward Royalton.

Deputies resumed pursuit at approximately 3:30 p.m. north of Royalton and continued to pursue the vehicle on Highway 10 to the Cushing area near County Road 16.

After several unsuccessful attempts by law enforcement to stop the suspect’s vehicle, the driver attempted to turn into the oncoming traffic lane, heading north into the southbound lanes. A tactical pursuit intervention maneuver, in which a law enforcement vehicle is used to force a fleeing vehicle to turn sharply to the side, was used to stop the vehicle. The two occupants were taken into custody.

A 36-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

The passenger, a 37-year-old man from Ponemah, was also arrested for multiple warrants.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the 36-year-old was being held in Morrison County Jail.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Royalton Police Department, Motley Police Department, Little Falls Police Department, Pierz Police Department, and St. Cloud Police Department.
