Area Golf: Giovanni’s regains the lead at Cragun’s – Brainerd Dispatch

EAST GULL LAKE — Giovanni’s Frozen Pizza regained a slim lead over Reichert Bus on Thursday, June 2 in the men’s league standings at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Giovanni has 154 points against 153.5 for Reichert Bus. Brainerd Eye is in third place with 151.5 points followed by Lakes Financial at 148.

Matt Ruis and Scott Imgrund had low raw scores while Carter Reece and Craig Holm were low net scores.

Brian Bemander and Dan Vickerman were pin hunting Thursday while Jarod Carlson and Scott Bender drained the longest putts.

EAST GULL LAKE — Nikki Nelson had the longest drive and Sara Simon sank the longest putt on the championship course on Tuesday, May 31 during women’s night at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

On the Par 3 course, Debbie Wake-Payne was closest to the pin and Whitney Luke made the longest putt.

EAST GULL LAKE — Scott Juranek, Steve Ogren, Thomas Juranek and Tyler Ogren shot a 2-under 66 to place first in the four-way best-ball 1 net and 1 gross event on Thursday, June 2 in the men’s league of Madden.

Randy Narlock, Tom Hoppe, Mike Anderson and Gregg McFarland finished 1 under second and in third place was the team of Josh Bacon, Ross Sheidecker, Jamie Ledin and Dave Eutke.

Rodney Harris was closest to the pin and Hoppe made the longest putt. Steve Juranek’s 37 was the low gross and Eutke and Tom Freece both shot 31 for the low net.

PEQUOT LAKES – Jim and Louise Hunt teamed up with Dave and Sharon Eutke to win the 2×2 couples scramble event on Wednesday, June 1 for Madden’s Couple night.

Judy Pryor, Carol Vogt and Wayne and Lynn Carner placed second.

Carol Vogt was closest to the pin and Dae Eutke made the longest putt.

PEQUOT LAKES — Myra Faust finished first for the first flight of the individual low-net match Wednesday, June 1, for the Whitefish Women 18-hole league.

Paula Gulliford finished second and Cathy Munger third behind Faust.

Cheryl Bontrager won the second flight with Kathy Coombs in second and Joi Brandt in third.

Winner of the third flight was Marguerite Baker. Enga Wodziak placed second and Sally Eckman third.

Munger, Helen McGrath, Gulliford and Barb Hanson each birdied.

PEQUOT LAKES — Grand View Lodge’s Claudia Pilot and playing partner Brenda Williams of Windsong Farm finished fourth in the championship flight of the MGA Senior Women’s Four-Ball Championship on Monday, June 6 at Whitefish Golf Club.

The duo shot 11-over for two rounds. Christine Dean and Adele Peterson shot a 3 under to win the two-day event.

The team of Cathy Munger and Nancy McEnroe from Whitefish Golf Club placed fifth in Flight One.

Debbie Enger and Joan Hasskamp placed second in the second flight.

Sue Seher and Helen McGrath of Whitefish Golf Club finished fourth in the third flight, followed by Jeanne Mooty and Lori McCormick of Minikahda Club and Whitefish in seventh place.

Roxanne Thompson and Maxine Riches of Madden’s Resort and Whitefish placed fifth in flight five.

In flight six, the team of Katie Deeg and Jean Buller of Golden Eagle and Grand View Lodge placed third in flight 6 ahead of Dianne Schafer and Lisa Hurt of Golden Eagle and Lisa Hurt.

Mark Gonnion, Nisswa, hit the 136-yard second hole of The Classic at Madden’s on June 2 using a pitching wedge.

Adam Knochenmus, Bagley, hit the 314-yard seventh hole at Madden’s Pine Beach West on June 4 with a driver.
