Cuyuna Regional Medical Center appoints interim CEO

The Board of Directors of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center has appointed Charisse Oland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota as Interim CEO to lead the organization through its transition.

Kyle Bauer, who has led the organization since 2017, announced his resignation as CEO on April 30 for personal reasons.

Oland will begin serving the CRMC on Tuesday, June 1. She will work with the Board of Directors to build on the organization’s strategic plan, promote its strengths and ensure a successful transition to her new leadership.

“Dr. Oland is ably qualified to lead the CMRC throughout its transition to the appointment of a permanent CEO, ”Chairman of the Board Bart Taylor said in a press release. “She has a wealth of healthcare experience in different settings and will greatly assist the CMRC as it continues to provide remarkable clinical expertise and truly heartwarming patient care.

Oland has served as a consultant for a wide range of independent health care and system organizations and community-based nonprofits for the past 16 years. She has also served as CEO of hospitals in Wisconsin and South Dakota, regional director of strategy and business development at a hospital in Wisconsin, and dietitian in Park Rapids. Oland holds a Doctorate in Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, a Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from North Dakota State University.

“I am delighted to serve the patients of the Cuyuna and Brainerd Lakes region and to be a part of CRMC’s long history of delivering high quality health care,” said Oland. “I look forward to being a part of this great independent healthcare system.”

The board is developing a search committee that will identify candidates for the next permanent CEO of the CRMC through a nationwide search.
